<div>Hello everyone, I'm Emerson Easley. I'm currently a resident of Gem City Rehabilitation Nursing Facility. I've been in the nursing home for over 6 months due to physical circumstances that completely changed my life all at once. In the middle of 2025, I started getting extremely sick. I developed pneumonia, blood clots in my lungs, and later found out that I also had a hernia that will require surgery. On top of that, I also have degenerative joint disease, where I have no cartilage in my hips that will require hip replacement surgery as well.

<div>By God's grace, I've been recovering and mostly healed, but still dealing with the aftereffects of both issues. Also, while in the nursing home, I had an emergency scare. I started throwing up blood and bile, and they had to run a tube down my nose to my stomach to drain the blood and bile. On top of that, I can hardly walk, and I'm currently homeless with nowhere to go if I did get released!

<div>I was receiving disability benefits, but my benefits were cut off and I'm now in the process of an appeal. <strong>My goal is to raise enough money to be able to comfortably start over upon my release.</strong> I will need to get a new place and most likely will need a custom vehicle to assist with my disability in order to continue driving.
