<div>I am Diana Espino, a 27-year-old who has been battling Endometriosis since the age of 12. Endometriosis is a systemic inflammatory disease in which tissue similar to the lining of the uterus grows outside of the uterus creating lesions that inflame and compromise organ function. Endometriosis has been found in every major organ of the body and is one of leading causes for infertility in women. Currently, there is no cure for Endometriosis. The best treatment option for endometriosis is to surgically remove the lesions by excising (cutting) them out and this requires a major surgery performed by an experienced Endometriosis surgeon. Due to limited access to experts and the low reimbursement rates of insurance companies, this surgery can be very costly and difficult to access.

<div>Endometriosis has deprived me of the many joys in my life including yoga, the gym, playing with my pets, and hanging out with the people I love. It has caused me to stay bedridden on many days due to the excruciating pain. Despite finally receiving an official diagnosis via laparoscopic surgery in 2022, I now face another surgery. The expenses for my upcoming endometriosis and cyst removal surgery have continued to escalate. I have suspected diaphragmatic endometriosis and that may require a more invasive procedure based on its complexity with a cardiovascular and thoracic specialist.

<div>In addition to endometriosis, I have adenomyosis and a large cyst on my left ovary that have been affecting my everyday life. Adenomyosis occurs when the tissue that normally lines the uterus grows into the muscular wall of the uterus. This has added to my pains during my period and has made them longer and heavier. The large cyst is pressuring my left leg sciatica nerve which has severely limited my mobility and ability to do simple everyday chores.

<div>The impact of this disease is devastating and I refuse to accept this as my new normal. I am choosing to take action and give myself the chance I deserve at a pain free life! Please consider donating to help with my surgical costs and join my fight against Endometriosis.

Me ha obligado a permanecer en cama muchos días debido al dolor insoportable. A pesar de que finalmente recibí un diagnóstico oficial mediante cirugía laparoscópica en 2022, ahora me enfrento a otra cirugía. Los gastos de mi próxima cirugía de endometriosis y extirpación de quistes han seguido aumentando. Sospechan que tengo endometriosis diafragmática y, debido a su complejidad, podría requerir un procedimiento más invasivo con un especialista cardiovascular y torácico.

<div>Además de la endometriosis, tengo adenomiosis y un quiste grande en el ovario izquierdo que me han afectado la vida diaria. La adenomiosis se produce cuando el tejido que normalmente recubre el útero crece dentro de la pared muscular del útero. Esto ha agravado mis dolores durante la menstruación, haciéndolos más largos e intensos. El quiste grande me presiona el nervio ciático de la pierna izquierda, lo que ha limitado gravemente mi movilidad y mi capacidad para realizar tareas cotidianas sencillas.
