<div><strong>Help Deborah Rebuild After the Devastating Eaton Fire</strong>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Dear Friends, Family, and Community,
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>We are reaching out to you with heavy hearts and an urgent request to support our dear friend and colleague, <strong>Deborah Atwell</strong>, in the wake of an unimaginable tragedy.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>On Wednesday, January 8, 2025, the devastating Altadena Eaton Fire tore through Deborah’s neighborhood, leaving nothing but ashes in its wake. Among the destruction was Deborah’s home—a place filled with love, memories, and the life she built with her family. To make matters even more heart-wrenching, the fire also destroyed her in-law’s home, which was her husband’s childhood home, a place that held irreplaceable memories and sentimental treasures spanning generations.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>In the span of a single day, Deborah and her family lost not only their physical belongings but also their sense of security and stability.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong>Why We Need Your Help</strong>
</div>
<div>Deborah is the kind of person who has always been there for others—whether it’s lending a helping hand, sharing her wisdom, or offering unwavering kindness. Now, she needs <strong>US </strong>to come together to help cover unexpected costs and to get them back on their feet.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>We’re raising funds to help Deborah and her family with:
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<ul>
<li>Essential items (clothing, toiletries, household basics)
</li>
<li>Emotional and practical support as they navigate this challenging time
</li>
<li>Assist with needs that might not be fully covered by other sources of aid
</li>
</ul>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong>How You Can Help?</strong>
</div>
<div><strong>Every contribution, no matter how small, makes a difference.</strong> Together, we can help Deborah and her family reimagine their lives and show them that they are not alone in this journey.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Please consider donating and sharing this campaign with your networks. Let’s unite as a community to support someone who has always been a source of light and strength for many of us. Let's show how our Mathematics Community of Practice supports our own! It is such an honor to work with Deborah as we fight for equity in mathematics for the students of Los Angeles County.

<div><br />
</div>
<div>Thank You
</div>
<div>Your generosity and kindness mean the world to Deborah and her family. Let’s give them hope and a chance to recover after this devastating loss.
