<div>Sometimes life throws unimaginable challenges at the most amazing people. This fundraiser is being organized on behalf of our cousin, Daniel Reyes, who suddenly fell ill in March with anemia and pneumonia, which led to him learning that he had a dangerously low white blood cell count. Since then, he has been hospitalized for several days at a time and has undergone multiple blood transfusions.

<div>Daniel is 32 years old and facing a battle no one should ever have to fight—lymphoma, a type of cancer affecting his white blood cells and compromising his immune system and other organs.

<div>For those who know him, you know how full of life he was just a few months ago. <strong>A diagnosis like this was unexpected and life-altering.</strong> Before this, Daniel lived a life of movement, freedom, and adventure. He worked as a contractor for FedEx, a physically demanding job he did with quiet strength. Outside of work, he found peace in nature with his dog, Stella—his “soul dog” and a constant companion.

<div>He played basketball, went to the gym, and explored the outdoors whenever he could - he was quite the avid off-trail hiker! <strong>His body was his tool, his escape, and his identity. </strong>

<div>He was strong, independent, and full of dreams. But this illness has turned his world upside down. He’s now grieving the life he once had and it’s been physically and emotionally overwhelming.
