We’re a 501(c)(3) nonprofit creating healing spaces by installing Wind Phones in parks, gardens, and other natural settings, providing quiet spots where anyone can pause, reflect, remember, and find comfort after loss.

<div>A Wind Phone is a simple, unconnected phone placed in a quiet outdoor space. It isn’t hooked up to a phone line; it’s a symbolic way to speak to a loved one who has passed. Visitors can sit, reflect, or share memories. Inspired by the <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wind_phone" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">original Wind Phone</a> in Japan, these spaces provide a gentle, accessible way to process grief and connect with emotions.

<div><strong>Why I started this project:</strong>
</div>
<div>Grief touches all of us – through illness, loss, or life’s toughest moments. I first discovered the original Wind Phone in Japan while looking for ways to cope with my father’s illness. I even tried it using a plastic pink play phone my daughter had. It was surprisingly healing. Recently, with my mother diagnosed with ovarian cancer, I’ve felt waves of grief again and deeply understand how powerful even small, accessible ways of finding comfort can be. A Wind Phone doesn’t replace professional support, but it provides a quiet, restorative space for anyone coping with loss or life’s difficult moments.

This is just the beginning. Our vision is to bring Wind Phones to parks, gardens, and natural spaces across the country, creating accessible spaces for reflection and healing wherever people need them.
