<div>On the morning of Friday, August 22, our dear friend and coworker Brenda was on her way to work using her electric scooter — her daily commute — when she was struck by a car. The impact threw her to the ground, causing serious injuries including multiple lacerations, a skull fracture, and a minor brain bleed. She was rushed to the hospital and now faces a long and difficult road to recovery.

<div>Brenda is only 29 years old, originally from Mexico, and came to Canada with her boyfriend, Tut, to build a better life together. With no family here to support her, she relies on the kindness of her friends, community, and coworkers during this devastating time.
