<div>I'm writing on behalf of my 16-year-old brother, Brayan, who suffered a life-threatening accident on Saturday, September 27th, around 6:00 PM. Brayan fell through a rooftop skylight, plunging nearly 40 feet. He was rushed to a local hospital, where doctors performed emergency surgery to stop internal bleeding caused by a ruptured spleen.

<div>We were devastated to learn the extent of his injuries:

<div>Other serious internal trauma

<div>But the most critical and uncertain injury was to his brain.

<div>After surviving the first surgery, Brayan was airlifted to Children’s Hospital Los Angeles for specialized care. CT scans showed severe brain swelling, and we were warned there was a high risk he could be declared brain dead if the swelling worsened.

<div>A Miracle in the Making
</div>
<div>About 72 hours later, Brayan passed a crucial neurological test—his pupils reacted to light. The next day, he blinked on his own. An MRI revealed that although his brain injury is still serious, it’s not as extensive as originally feared.
</div>
<div>Current Medical Update
</div>
<div>As of today—five days after the accident—Brayan is not comatose, but he is in a state called stuporous. This means he is mostly unresponsive but can be briefly awakened with strong stimuli. He’s not fully unconscious, but he has very limited awareness of his surroundings.
</div>
<div>Today, doctors gave us a glimmer of hope:

<div>They believe Brayan should regain motor function and hopefully speech within the next few months—with extensive therapy.
</div>
<div>They are also planning a spine MRI tomorrow, so we’re still waiting to understand the full extent of potential spinal damage and what that might mean for his mobility in the future.

</div>
<div>Brayan is only 16 years old—a sweet, funny, and caring teen with his whole life ahead of him. He’s a loving son, a brother, a friend—and someone who lights up every room he’s in.

<div>We come from a tight-knit family raised by our single mom, who is doing everything she can to stay strong for Brayan and for us. This accident has been emotionally and financially devastating, and we’re reaching out for help.
