Through the kindness of others, a Congressman and Mayor generously donated ₱200,000.00, and the DSWD Cagayan de Oro contributed ₱150,000.00, leaving a remaining balance of ₱233,114.00 (≈ $4,020 USD) still to be paid. </span>

<div>Bernadette has a beautiful spirit and a gift for music — she serves as a psalmist in their church, where she sings and plays both the guitar and keyboard. Her voice and music have inspired and comforted many, filling her family, friends, and faith community with hope and joy.

<div>What makes Bernadette’s story especially powerful is that she has been living with Chronic Myelogenous Leukemia (CML) since she was just 13 years old. For the past 17 years, she has fought with incredible strength, enduring treatments and hospitalizations while still dreaming of and building a life filled with love, faith, and music.

<div>Recently, her condition has worsened. She has been in and out of the hospital with complications including pneumonia, liver fibrosis with ascites, and recurrent infections. Her latest hospital bill has already reached ₱245,000 ($4,300 USD), and she faces the ongoing need for costly medications such as Nilotinib and Eltrombopag, which alone can cost ₱150,000–₱200,000 ($2,700–$3,600 USD) per month.
