<div>Last night, Athena was rushed to the emergency vet after getting into rat poison that was unknowingly delivered to our yard inside a package dropped off by an Amazon driver. She tore through the packaging before I could get to it, and by the time I realized what happened, she was already showing signs of poisoning.

<div>She was hospitalized immediately and began suffering from neurological symptoms. The initial emergency care cost over $1,200, which I’ve already paid out of pocket. But her fight isn’t over.

<div>The vets believe Athena still has a real chance at recovery — but she needs to stay hospitalized for at least another 24 to 48 hours to survive. The continued care, medications, and monitoring are estimated to cost an additional $3,100, and I just don’t have the funds left. With my kids heading back to school, I had already spent what I had saved on their supplies trying to keep Athena stable.
