I did have a fundraiser running, however, it did not do well since it was anonymous for my safety and I do not have many community connections here. I was not able to register for my last semester because I have unpaid tuition fees.

<div>I’m first gen and the first woman in my family to travel so far away to pursue an education. My family did not support my decision. I was lucky to have a private sponsor support me, however, they unfortunately passed away. It is nearly impossible for me to raise international tuition plus all the living expenses without any prior planning.

<div>Because my study permit expires soon, I need to show that I have enough money for my living expenses and tuition + unpaid tuition. I have tried everything I know. I cannot get a bank loan because I need a cosignor. I cannot get a private loan because all my jobs have been part time jobs as a student and they require full time employment with a BCID (I do not have one) Right now I’m working as much as I can, full time. I’ve reached out to UVic, various mutual aid groups, religious communities, etc. but I just haven’t been lucky enough.
