<div>Our beloved friend Akasha—a devoted father, creative spirit, and gentle soul—suffered a traumatic brain injury in a horrific golf cart accident in Miami. What began as a simple ride ended with him being violently thrown from the cart, striking his head against a tree. He was found unresponsive, his airway filled with blood, and had to be manually ventilated before being rushed to a trauma center.

<div>Doctors had to remove part of his skull to relieve the swelling in his brain. He’s been in a medically induced coma for over a week, and no one yet knows how long he will remain in the hospital, or if—and how fully—he will recover.

<div>To make matters worse, he’s also battling facial fractures, pneumonia, and complications from the trauma. His body is fighting for equilibrium as his medical team monitors him around the clock.

<div>Akaskas mother, Charlotte, and his youngest son Z, eldest son Cameroon and 13 year old daughter Coda all live in Texas. Charlotte and Z traveled to Miami to be with him, but the cost of lodging, transportation, and missed work is quickly becoming unsustainable.
