On Friday, 16 October 2026, our friend Ajay Malik was attacked by two dogs while out for a run at Seventh Brigade Park in Chermside, Brisbane. He suffered serious injuries and was rushed to the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital for urgent care. What should have been an ordinary evening became a frightening, life-changing experience. Ajay now faces a long recovery, both physically and emotionally. Why We Are Raising Funds Ajay will be unable to work for a long time. That means a significant loss of income for him and his wife, at the same time as medical and rehabilitation costs begin to add up. We are raising $300,000 to help cover months of living costs and recovery expenses, so Ajay and his wife can focus on his healing rather than on bills.   How Your Support Will Make a Difference Funds raised will go directly to Ajay and his wife to help with: - Rent, bills and essential living expenses while he is off work - Medical, rehabilitation and follow-up appointment costs - Transport to and from appointments If we reach our goal and further support is still needed, we will update everyone here. Updates and Privacy We will share updates on Ajay's recovery and how the funds are being used, while respecting his and his wife's privacy. Please Stand With Ajay Ajay is a friend, a family member and a valued part of our community, and no one should face something like this alone. If you can donate, any amount will make a real difference. If you can't, sharing this fundraiser with your friends, family and network would also mean a great deal. Every donation, share and message of encouragement is a reminder to Ajay and his wife that they are not alone. Thank you for your kindness and generosity.
