<div>On the night of January 24th, my car was stolen from right outside our apartment. While losing a vehicle is a major setback for any family, for us, it is a specialized crisis. My son was born with tibial hemimelia, a condition that requires him to wear prosthetic legs to move and explore the world.

<div>When they took my car, they didn't just take a vehicle—they took my son’s ability to walk.
</div>
<div>The theft has brought our lives to a standstill. Inside the car were:

<div>• My son’s custom prosthetic legs
</div>
<div>• His specialized car seat
</div>
<div>• His stroller (located in the trunk)
</div>
<div>• Our only reliable way to get to medical care
</div>
<div>Because I no longer have transportation, I was forced to leave my job. More importantly, my son has now missed two weeks of school and his critical physical, occupational, and speech therapy sessions. For a child who is already speech-delayed, these sessions are his lifeline to a more independent future. Every day he goes without his equipment and his therapy is a day his progress is hindered.

<div>We have filed a police report, but unfortunately, there have been no leads. We are essentially starting back at square one. I am reaching out to my community to help us get back on our feet—literally.
