<div>My name is Briarlynn, and I’m asking for help covering about $2,000 in out-of-pocket insurance premiums so I can reactivate my wife, Brandi’s, union insurance for an upcoming surgery on June 29.

<div>Brandi has been laid off since January. After a few months, our insurance coverage was cut off unless we could pay the premiums ourselves. We haven't been able to cover the costs as it is over 3 times what Indiana unemployment is, and now we are now down to the wire.

<div>I am scheduled for surgery on June 29 to treat vaginal stenosis. This is my second vaginoplasty-related surgery. After my first surgery, I had a complication, and despite doing everything I was supposed to do, I still ended up with stenosis. And this upcoming surgery requires a prior authorization.

<div>Right now, the biggest obstacle is reactivating the insurance long enough for the prior authorization process and the surgery itself. If we cannot get the premiums paid in time, I may have to reschedule, which would be emotionally and medically difficult after already getting this close. Imagine how you'd feel if your vagina closed.

<div>Brandi is a proud dues paying member of the IBEW Local 725 and is still waiting to be called back to work. We are hoping for a little help and solidarity from friends, coworkers, union family, and anyone who is able to share or give.

<div>The money raised will go directly toward the out-of-pocket insurance premiums needed to keep coverage active for this surgery. Anything extra, if there is any, will go toward related medical costs and GoFundMe fees.
