<div>My name is Tony Boone. I’m a father of 8 children — 4 in my household and 4 others I continue to support — and I’ve done everything I can to hold things together since my son Mikaeel was diagnosed with leukemia in July 2024.

<div>Before all of this, I worked full-time as a mover, and my wife Felicia worked in healthcare. But once Mikaeel got sick, everything changed. We’ve spent countless nights in the hospital, watching him go through intense chemotherapy, painful side effects, and recently a seizure stemming from a rare, and reversible, but serious brain condition called PRES that sent him to the ICU. My wife lost her job after taking time off to be by Mikaeel’s side when he was first diagnosed. Now, on top of everything, I’m facing a major physical setback — I need surgery for a torn meniscus, cartilage damage, and other knee issues that have made it impossible to continue working for now. I have a surgical consult on June 12.

<div>Mikaeel has been in the hospital since May 21st, and we’ve had to get a hotel room nearby just to stay close to him while also trying to keep things stable for our other children. The cost of staying near the hospital, on top of gas, food, rent, and daily responsibilities, has become more than we can carry alone.

<div>Back in September 2024, a kind brother launched a fundraiser on LaunchGood, and we were blessed to receive around $3,400 in support. Those funds helped us cover early medical costs, hospital travel, and bills. We’ve stretched every resource since then, but nearly a year later — with Mikaeel still in active treatment, long hospital stays, and now the added challenges of lost income and pending surgery — we’ve reached a point where we truly need help again.

<div>Despite all this, we’ve kept pushing forward. We’ve continued to homeschool our children (as a safety precaution) travel daily to the hospital, and stretch every dollar to cover basic needs. But after nearly a year of doing everything we could to manage on our own, we’re now at the point of needing help.
