<div>We are asking for your support for a cherished teacher at the Buffalo Academy for Visual and Performing Arts who is courageously fighting an unimaginable battle. <strong>She has recently been diagnosed with bone marrow cancer and is also experiencing kidney failure.</strong> Her health has declined rapidly, and she is now unable to work as she undergoes life-saving treatments.

<div>Because she is not yet tenured, her paid leave will run out within the next week, and she will not be eligible to receive disability benefits for 5–6 months. <strong>This leaves her and her family in an extremely vulnerable position with no income during the most challenging period of their lives.</strong>
