<div>Major, my sweet 10-year-old nephew, was a healthy, active kid — until everything changed in just a few hours. He went into toxic shock after a sudden and aggressive bloodstream infection. His condition deteriorated rapidly, and within hours, he was fighting for his life.

<div>Doctors and nurses fought to save him for weeks with every life-saving measure available. Their efforts kept him with us — but at a heavy cost. To save his life, both of Major’s legs and one of his hands had to be amputated.
</div>

<div>Major is an incredible kid. He loves playing soccer and baseball, and he’s always happiest when he’s outside, especially when he’s fishing. His smile lights up every room — and even now, after everything, he’s still smiling.
