<div>Hello. My name is Alanna Halloran. On October 5, I’ll be lacing up my shoes and running the Twin Cities Marathon – all 26.2 miles – to raise money for research leading to a treatment and cure for Neurofibromatosis Type 2 (NF2). And I’d love your support! Why this cause? <strong>It’s deeply personal because my twin sister Lizzie and I live with the debilitating effects of NF2. </strong>This rare genetic disorder causes tumors on nerves in the brain, spine, and beyond. Over the past 10 years, we’ve undergone more surgeries and treatments than I can count. My twin, Lizzie, can’t run this marathon with me due to NF2 complications; she had a tumor removed from her spine at age 12, which has affected her mobility. So I will be running for both of us and for everyone battling NF2. <strong>Momentum is on our side, a cure is within reach.</strong>

<div>All donations go to NF2 BioSolutions, a nonprofit organization led by scientists, doctors, and patient families, which funds the most promising breakthroughs in treatments. Every dollar donated is spent on research.
