<div>Die Kometin stellt nun seit fast 3 Jahren ihre <strong>Räumlichkeiten </strong>in Graz für die Leidenschaften von Einzelpersonen und Gruppen zur Verfügung.

<div><strong>Bei uns gibt’s Platz </strong>zum Schreiben, Malen, Nähen, Spielen, Musizieren, Meditieren, Diskutieren, Werkeln, Veranstalten und vieles mehr, das ausprobiert werden will – und kein Geld einbringen muss.

<div>Im August hat uns die Nachricht erreicht, dass wir für das Jahr 2024 eine üppige <strong>Nachzahlung für die Heiz- und Betriebskosten </strong>aufbringen müssen. Das war jener Zeitraum, in dem die <strong>österreichischen Gaspreise um das 5-fache angestiegen</strong> sind.

<div>Wir versuchen trotz der schlechten Isolation stets sehr sparsam mit der Heizung umzugehen. Leider vergebens, die Rechnung hat unsere schlimmsten Erwartungen übertroffen - über <strong>3100 €</strong>!

<div>So eine Rechnung schafft unser Verein nicht alleine!

<div>Unser Verein wird nicht gefördert und finanziert sich einzig aus <strong>Mitglieds-Beiträgen und Spenden unserer Gäst:innen</strong>.

<div>An unexpected gas bill puts our free commons initiative at risk.

<div>Die Kometin has been <strong>making its rooms in Graz available</strong> for the passions of individuals and groups for almost three years now.

</div>
<div><strong>We offer an open space</strong> for writing, painting, sewing, playing, making music, meditating, discussing, crafting, organizing events, and much more that's worth trying out – and doesn't have to generate any money.
</div>

<div>In August, we received news that we have to pay a<strong> hefty additional payment for heating and operating costs</strong> for 2024. This was the period in which<strong> Austrian gas prices increased fivefold</strong>. 
</div>

</div>
<div>Despite the poor insulation of the house, we always try to use the heating very sparingly. Unfortunately, our effords were in vain; the bill exceeded our worst expectations – over <strong>€3,100</strong> extra!
</div>

<div>Our association can't handle a bill like this alone! Our association receives no subsidies and is <strong>financed solely through membership fees and donations from our guests</strong>.

<div>We now face the difficult decision of whether we can continue as an association – <strong>we only have a few months left</strong> to raise the funds.
</div>

<div>This situation is putting pressure on not only our open space but also on the many <strong>initiatives that have found a home with us</strong>.
