<div>Poppy had been chained up, emaciated, and covered in scars—her embedded collar had caused deep lacerations. While she was tied and defenseless, she went into heat and was repeatedly attacked by roaming male dogs.

<div>We were alerted to her condition and arranged to pick her up the next day—but in those 24 hours, tragedy struck: she was hit by a car. Her femur is now shattered.

<div>She’s too malnourished to undergo surgery immediately. She’ll need 3–6 weeks of rehabilitation before she’s strong enough for an amputation, which will be her only option due to how the bone will begin to heal. After that, she can’t return to the streets.
