<div>Hi, my name is Hannah Olson. I grew up on the Tahoe National Forest. I’ve spent much of my life exploring the backcountry trails of America, and serving as a steward of the land with the Forest Service.

<div>I have been struggling with brain cancer for about a year and a half now. I had a surgery, did radiation and some chemo. I’m having adverse effects from the treatments, and experiencing the impacts to motor functions. The tumor is embedded in the motor panel that controls the right side of my body, and is inoperable. I have lost the ability to use my dominant hand, arm, and now my right leg is struggling to work properly as well.

<div>The Department of Labor has so far reimbursed most of the medical costs because I have a presumptive illness from wildland firefighting. But there’s a lot they do not cover and the reimbursement process is long and difficult.

<div>After 17 seasons of working for the Forest Service, I recently lost my job and my housing because of the government reductions in force. I am now unable to work due to physical limitations and some cognitive dysfunction.
