<div>Jordan Olivares has always been a fighter. At just 9 years old, she appeared on ESPN’s first episode of Year of the Quarterback alongside NFL legends Dan Marino and Steve Young a glimpse of the determination that would define her life. Jordan went on to lead Seaside High School to its first-ever CCS Basketball Championship in school history. She later made history again at Sacramento State, helping lead the women’s basketball team to their first-ever Big Sky Conference Championship <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uY7OnXfYvLc&amp;feature=youtu.beand" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"><a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uY7OnXfYvLc&amp;feature=youtu.beand" target="_blank" class="" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uY7OnXfYvLc&amp;feature=youtu.beand</a></a> that lead to a NCAA Tournament appearance. Jordan continued her journey at Cal State Bakersfield, earning her Master’s Degree in Business Administration before beginning a career of service with the Kern County Probation Department. She has always been strong. Always driven. Always the person helping others. Then everything changed.

<div>What Happened - 
</div>
<div>In November, Jordan was rushed to the hospital after suddenly losing mobility from the neck down. She was diagnosed with Guillain-Barré Syndrome (GBS), a rare autoimmune disorder in which the body’s immune system attacks the nerves. Caused paralysis from the neck down.

<div>Jordan spent 11 days in the ICU fighting for her life. What initially appeared to be GBS later progressed into a severe case of Chronic Inflammatory Demyelinating Polyneuropathy (CIDP), a rare neurological disease that continues to attack her nervous system and requires ongoing treatment. Since then, Jordan has endured multiple hospitalizations, infections, extensive rehabilitation, IVIG treatments, specialist appointments, and countless medical procedures in her search for answers and recovery. <div>More than eight months later, Jordan is still fighting the battle of her life. While she has made small but meaningful gains through treatment and therapy, she remains largely paralyzed and dependent on others for daily help.

<div>Jordan was hospitalized again after doctors discovered her blood levels had dropped dangerously low, placing her just one point away from requiring a blood transfusion.

<div>The athlete who once trained at the highest level has lost over 54  pounds of muscle and continues fighting every day simply to regain basic functions most of us take for granted. Yet through it all, her determination remains unshaken.

<div>Jordan worked incredibly hard to purchase her first home and build the future she dreamed of. Today, she is fighting not only for her health but to keep her home and maintain access to the care she desperately needs. Because Jordan became ill so early in her career, she did not have enough work credits to qualify for disability benefits. The reality is heartbreaking. The medical bills continue. The treatments continue. The equipment needs continue. The travel for specialists continues. But the income does not. The funds raised so far have helped cover essential medical expenses, recovery supplies, transportation, housing costs, and daily living expenses while Jordan focused on healing. Today, those funds have been exhausted. As Jordan continues pursuing specialized neurological care and second opinions, the financial burden continues to grow. Our goal is simple: To get Jordan in front of the best specialists possible and provide her every opportunity to recover. We refuse to stop searching for answers.
