<div>Two weeks ago—at 7:48 a.m. on St. George Street—a member of our unhoused community set fire to Bryce’s car. Within minutes he lost his vehicle, a number of personal belongings, and the sense of security every young parent deserves.

<div>Bryce, true to form, delivered an incredible tasting experience at 9am and 11am, finished his shift that day, and, as he always does made guests feel the Epoch Hospitality we strive for. That resilience is inspiring—but it shouldn’t be necessary.

<div>Moncton’s growing unhoused population is a symptom of systemic failures we haven’t solved—failures other cities (from Scandinavian capitals to Fredericton under Marcel Lebrun’s leadership) are addressing with proven programs. Until similar, durable solutions reach our neighbourhood, everyday citizens are left to pick up the pieces.
