Each time, they gathered what little they had left and ran, praying they would find a safer place. Abed Al-Rahim always tried to stay hopeful, telling his wife, “Maybe this time… we’ll find some peace.” But peace never came. With each move, they lost more — savings, belongings, even hope.

<div>Now, more than 700 days into the war, they are being displaced again. But this time is different. This time, they have nothing left. All their resources have been drained across the past two years of trying to survive. They can’t afford a tent. They can’t pay a driver to take them to another so-called “safe zone.” They are stuck, with no shelter and no way out — not even the most basic protection from the coming rain.
