<div>My name is Mustafa Shibary, and I live in Vancouver, BC, Canada. On August 31, 2025, a powerful 6.0 magnitude earthquake struck eastern Afghanistan, devastating Kunar province. This disaster claimed the lives of nearly 1,500 people, injured over 3,000, and destroyed more than 5,000 homes. Thousands of families are now grieving, displaced, and without basic necessities.

<div>This tragedy is deeply personal for me. My wife’s family (Dr. Farid Hakim Safi)  is originally from Kunar, and we have relatives and friends who were directly impacted. Some lost loved ones, while others lost their homes entirely and are now left without shelter. These are not strangers to us—they are our family, friends, and community.

<div>We are doing what we can as a family to provide immediate support, but the needs are far greater than what we can manage alone. That is why I have created this fundraiser: to bring direct relief to families we know who are suffering the most.

<div>Every dollar raised will go directly to help families in Kunar who have lost their homes or loved ones. Specifically, the funds will be used to provide:
