<div>Hi, we’re Shari and Marlon, two working students from Mainz.

<div>We adopted Arturo from a shelter about 2 years ago. He is only 4 years old now and had been in the shelter most of his life due to his “temperament” and was considered a difficult candidate for adoption.
</div>
<div>He immediately felt at home with us and has been a source for a lot of laughs and joy.
</div>
<div>Early this week he was diagnosed with a urinary tract blockage and was ultimately admitted for a 3-day stay at the animal hospital.
</div>
<div>Costs for that day alone sit at around 1600EUR.
</div>
<div>We were so happy to get him home after, but the issue persisted and we had to go to an emergency vet who admitted him again and recommended a surgery to solve the problem long-term.
</div>
<div>The second stay in the animal hospital and the cost of the surgery (planned for Sep 29) will be another 2000-2500EUR.
</div>
<div>The incoming second vet bill led us to start a gofundme in hopes of getting some help to shoulder the costs of his treatment.
</div>
