<div>Operation Healthy Hearts started after my own experiences with hardship. Navigating my way back, I saw the deep gaps in support-not just for people experiencing homelessness, but for those on the brink. Food banks lacked fresh, culturally relevant options, and the resources I needed simply were not there. In 2012, I took action, launching Operation Healthy Hearts from a small backhouse at a local church. For five years, I provided meals, haircuts, and showers, earning the trust of my community. By 2017, LA County invited me to partner on a pilot at Whittier Narrows. Now, in 2025, after more than a decade of hands-on service, I continue to fight for dignity, access, and real solutions—because I know firsthand what's at stake."
