I'm a microbiologist and environmental educator. <strong>This fundraiser is to create and distribute an illustrated book explaining the significance of the Stromatolites in a colorful format that a child will understand.</strong> This is our gift to the next generation who will inherit Laguna Bacalar.

<div>Laguna Bacalar is home to the oldest living organism in the world. As a community of Laguna lovers and inhabitants, we have the high responsibility of preserving this essential ecosystem. Education is the first step in creating a community of water guardians, cultivating a community that will defend the waters and the stromatolites so future generations can enjoy unpolluted water.

<div>Funds will be used to pay the costs of illustration and digital design, as well as printing and distribution costs. The goal is to gift a copy of the book to every local school in Bacalar, so the local children will grow up with a deep understanding and respect for the Laguna and her stromatolites.
