Devin and Ripley are racing in the <a href="http://www.ironman.com/triathlon/events/americas/ironman-70.3/calgary.aspx#axzz5tqK3v5AL">IRONMAN 70.3 Calgary</a>  (1.2 mile swim, 56 mile bike, 13.1 mile run) in Calgary on August 11th.  This is our FIRST triathlon event and we wanted to dedicate it to a cause bigger than ourselves. We are both very passionate when it comes to protecting our oceans and beaches. Through our experiences and travel, we have seen first-hand the challenges our oceans face from pollution, offshore development and climate change. We feel strongly about taking a proactive stance when it comes to preserving our oceans and beaches, and this aligns seamlessly with <a href="https://www.surfrider.org/mission">the Surfrider Foundation's mission</a>. Surfrider is dedicated to the protection and enjoyment of the world's ocean, waves and beaches through a powerful activist network. Additionally, Devin and Ripley intend to become more involved with the Surfrider NYC Chapter by participating in beach clean ups and sustainability campaigns.
