<div>On July 17th, 2021 I was run over by a car while riding my bike in Los Angeles. I broke my left femur, left shoulder, and 10 ribs; punctured both lungs; and sustained 3rd degree burns.

<div>My recovery was difficult and remains ongoing, but I am tired of these injuries defining who I am and what I can do.

<div>On July 17th, 2026: I’ll depart my home in Portland, Oregon on the FIVE YEAR ANNIVERSARY of my collision via bike and continue south until I get to Los Angeles and finish the ride I was trying to do when I got hit.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>I’ll mostly follow the Pacific Coast Highway, before arriving in Santa Monica at the end of August.

</div>

<div>Start: Portland, OR

</div>

<div>Planned Distance: 1,320 miles

</div>

<div>Planned Time: 44 days

</div>

<div>Finish: Santa Monica, CA

</div>

<div><strong>If you feel inspired or just want to express your support, a donation to offset my ride costs is a great way to contribute! </strong>While bike touring is a relatively inexpensive pastime, is isn’t free nor is it easy to do while working. Contributions here go towards meals, bike repairs, campsite fees, gear purchases, and other incidental costs.
