<div>On Aug 8, 2025, I felt a soft spot in our bathroom floor. By the next morning, my husband found the cause — a broken, disconnected water pipe under the bathtub.

<div>When contractors checked the damage, they found:

<div>• Rotten floor joists beyond the bathroom into the living room, hallway, and kitchen
</div>
<div>• Water-soaked subfloors
</div>
<div>• Black mold
</div>
<div>• Risk of the house collapsing

<div>We called our insurance company, expecting help. Instead, they denied our claim, provided us with two nights in a hotel (which they later revoked), and instructed us to contact the builder.

<div>The builder? Bankrupt and gone due to already being sued by other homeowners in our subdivision.
</div>

</div>
<div>Our home was built in 2021, and we are the first owners. Now everything we own is in storage pods, at risk of being ruined by mold.

<div>We’re senior citizens, living in a camper on our property. My husband is battling a terminal illness and can no longer do the handyman things he did all his life.
