<div><strong>Where We’re Headed</strong>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>After 25 years of grassroots organizing, the Brides’ March is becoming a formal nonprofit organization—expanding from an annual march to a year-round hub for:
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Healing and trauma-informed care for homicide survivors.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Preventive education with youth and schools.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Advocacy with and for men who date women.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Survivor-led innovation to stop domestic violence before it escalates to femicide.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Led by Gladys’ niece, Lethy Liriano, the vision forward is clear: center survivors, partner with communities, and co-create non-carceral solutions to prevent intimate partner violence.
</div>

<div>Thanks for supporting our Delegation to the Dominican Republic and sister marches in honor of the International Day of No Violence Against Women with your donations in 2025.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Why This Matters Now
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Domestic violence homicides are preventable. Yet, every year, countless mothers, sisters, daughters, and friends are taken by abusive ex-partners who believe they still have dominion over their lives.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>The Brides’ March is both a warning and a call to action:
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>A warning that femicide happens even after women walk away.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>A call that it will take all of us to interrupt the patterns that allow DV homicides to persist.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Every year, the Brides’ March Steering Committee—10 mighty women, members of the Ricart family, and advocates from across NYC, alongside Josie Ashton from Florida—commit to marching, collaborating, listening, and creating solutions for this preventable outcome.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>We hope you will continue to source us, believe in us, and motivate us. Investing in this legacy and vision helps us continue the momentum of the last 25 years to make femicides rare—or even extinct.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>This vision is possible. We ask for your support to continue our fight. We commit to marching and raising our voices vociferously, rain or shine, every Sept 26th to break the silence on this issue in service of the collective well-being. Please consider a contribution of any amount to our campaign today—thank you for standing with us.

</div>
<div><strong>History</strong>
</div>
<div>Gladys Ricart was born October 15, 1960, in Tamboril, Dominican Republic. By age 35, she was a college graduate, an accountant, and a homeowner in Ridgefield, NJ. But on September 26, 1999, while preparing to marry her fiancé and surrounded by loved ones, Gladys was murdered in her home by the abusive ex-boyfriend she had left behind.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>The Brides’ March began in 2001 to honor Gladys, whose wedding day became a murder scene captured on tape and broadcast around the world, shining a light on the horrors of domestic violence.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>The lives of children, family, and friends were forever scarred. We often ask why women don’t leave. Gladys did—but her killer would not allow it. His act of control and violence reverberated across the world, and for one woman—<strong>Josie Ashton</strong>—it sparked a mission she could not walk away from.

</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>What began as Josie’s solo walk of grief and protest has grown into the Brides’ March: an annual act of remembrance and resistance against domestic violence. Every September 26, rain or shine, we march in wedding gowns through New York City and beyond to mourn stolen lives and demand change.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>This year marks our <em>25th Annual </em>Brides’ March. From New York to the Dominican Republic and across the U.S., women and allies are keeping Gladys’ story alive and standing for a world free from femicide.

</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Nuestro Rumbo
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Educación preventiva con jóvenes y escuelas.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong>Tu Donación Hace Posible Este Trabajo</strong>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Con tu apoyo podemos:
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Compensar a artistas, sanadorxs, defensorxs y sobrevivientes que lideran programas.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong>Por Qué Importa Ahora</strong>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Gracias por tu apoyo.
