<div>My name is Brianne Hokuao Kealoha. I'm a 46-year-old woman from Kamuela, Hawaiʻi. Until recently, my life felt pretty normal. I'm a friend, a daughter, a mother, and a sister. But in August 2024, my world was turned upside down with a diagnosis I never saw coming: breast cancer.

<div>And not just any breast cancer. I was diagnosed with "mucinous carcinoma", a rare form that accounts for only about 2% of all breast cancer cases. When my doctors told me, I had a hard time even finding information about it. It felt like I was being thrown into a battle I knew nothing about, fighting a quiet and unusual enemy.

<div>That's why I'm starting this blog. I'm not a doctor, a scientist, or a professional writer. I'm simply a person navigating a new life. I'm here to share my story—from the scary days of a new diagnosis to the small moments of hope and joy. My goal is to demystify mucinous carcinoma, create a space for others who feel alone with a rare diagnosis, and, most importantly, show that life doesn't stop with cancer.

<div>My next step is to begin treatment. I have a meeting with a new oncologist on the 20th of this month to discuss the next steps in my journey.

<div>Along the way, I'll be sharing details about my treatment, tips I've learned, and the raw emotions that come with this journey. By sharing my story, I hope to help someone else feel a little less alone.
