<div>My friend and her young son have been trapped in an extremely difficult situation in the United States for months and by now, they are literally fighting to survive.
</div>
<div>Many people know parts of her story and may have followed the first fundraising appeal, but very few are aware of how dramatically things have worsened.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Although she has had sole legal custody since August, she is not allowed and not able to return to Germany.
</div>
<div>If she were to leave the country without her son, she would immediately lose custody.
</div>
<div>If she were to leave with him, it would legally be considered child abduction.
</div>
<div>Neither option is possible. A decision about her return to Germany will not be made by the court until at least summer 2026.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Until then, she is stuck there without family support, without a social network, without help.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>She does not have a work permit. This means she has no legal way to earn money.
</div>
<div>Despite this, she works every single day just to make some income, but what she earns is nowhere near enough to survive in the U.S.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>She receives only minimal government assistance in the form of food stamps, which barely cover the most basic groceries.
</div>
<div>The child support her son is legally entitled to has still not been finalized, and it is unclear how long the process will take.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>She has been living at the absolute minimum for months.
</div>
<div>Every dollar that comes in goes directly toward short-term housing, food for her son, transportation, and basic survival needs. She herself goes without anything that is not absolutely essential.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>A few days ago, her son was diagnosed with autism. He urgently needs stability, therapy, and a calm environment, but she cannot provide that right now, because without documents, without income, and without a credit score, she cannot secure an apartment and is constantly struggling to find temporary housing.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>As if all of this were not enough, she was recently involved in a car accident while uninsured.
</div>
<div>She is now facing repair costs of approximately $7,000 on top of the already overwhelming expenses for housing, a car, food, and the ongoing custody proceedings.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>She is physically, emotionally, and financially at her absolute limit.
</div>
<div>But she keeps fighting - every single day - for her son.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>That is why I am asking you:
</div>
<div>If you have a few dollars to spare, every single contribution truly helps her get through the coming weeks and months until a court decision is finally made.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>This is not about comfort.
</div>
<div>Not about a “lifestyle.”
</div>
<div>It is simply about survival, about protecting a child and enabling a mother to continue being there for him.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>To anyone who can help: thank you from the bottom of my heart.
</div>
<div>And to anyone who cannot: even sharing this appeal helps more than you know.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>---------------------------------
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
</div>
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Bis dahin sitzt sie dort fest – ohne familiären Rückhalt, ohne soziales Netz, ohne Unterstützung.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Sie lebt seit Monaten am absoluten Minimum.
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Deshalb bitte ich euch:
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Hier geht es nicht um Komfort.
</div>
<div>Nicht um einen „Lebensstil“.
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Wer helfen kann: Danke von Herzen.
</div>
