Since birth, she has had to undergo three surgeries in order to eat, breathe, and, in the future, speak normally. In addition, she experiences delays in her motor development and learning.

<div>My daughter’s father has sued me and takes advantage of his financial position and my vulnerability as an immigrant, using the fact that he was born here and knows the laws to try to obtain custody.

<div>The court appointed a Guardian ad litem who sided with the person paying her fees — “the father.” I requested her removal, but the court denied it. Every time I try to assert my rights, I am silenced.
