<div>En febrero de 2024, Valentín, de 43 años, sufrió un<strong> accidente terrible.</strong> Su corazón y su cerebro dejaron de funcionar, y estuvo clínicamente muerto durante <strong>8 minutos.</strong> Milagrosamente, los médicos lograron devolverle la vida, pero el daño fue irreversible: su cerebro no recibió oxígeno durante ese tiempo, y como resultado, Valentín quedó en estado <strong>vegetativo.</strong>

<div>Hoy, Valentín no puede moverse, hablar, comer por sí mismo ni emitir ningún sonido. Requiere cuidados las 24 horas del día, todos los días.

<div>Desde entonces, Ángeles, su madre, ha estado a su lado sin descanso. Tuvo que dejar su trabajo y toda su vida para dedicarse completamente <strong>a cuidar de su hijo</strong>. Perdió su independencia, sus ingresos y lamentablemnete han tenido que vender muchas de sus pertenencias para costear gastos médicos y hoy apenas cuentan con lo básico para vivir.

<div>Ha pasado más de un año, y aunque han recibido algo de ayuda de familiares y apoyos gubernamentales, los gastos siguen acumulándose: traslados al hospital, medicamentos, comida, renta, suministros médicos… y lo más básico, como una estufa, una cama adecuada o una lavadora, <strong>ya no están a su alcance.</strong>
