<div>Hace un año, mi padre - una persona activa, creativa y generosa - sufrió un ictus hemorrágico que casi le obligó a marcharse de nuestro lado antes de tiempo.
</div>
<div>Después de dos semanas de absoluta incertidumbre y contra todo pronóstico, regresó a este mundo…
</div>

<div>De un día para otro, nuestras vidas cambiaron para siempre y la de mi padre, más. En cuestión de minutos, pasó de ser una persona totalmente independiente a encontrarse en una cama de hospital, con secuelas graves que le han dejado en un estado de dependencia total.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Tras nueve meses de hospitalización, una traqueostomía, alimentación por sonda gástrica y episodios de delirio, mi padre tuvo la fuerza de voluntad de superar todos esos obstáculos y entre todos, logramos que su vida se estabilizara.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Ahora ya se encuentra en casa, sin embargo, el camino que queda por delante es largo y cuesta arriba. Los médicos nos han explicado que la rehabilitación intensiva es fundamental para que pueda recuperar movilidad, fluidez del habla y, sobre todo, autonomía.
</div>

</div>
<div>Cuanto antes se inicie y más completa sea la terapia, mayores son las posibilidades de que pueda retomar las riendas de su vida.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>El problema es que la rehabilitación neurológica especializada que necesita solo se ofrece en clínicas privadas y los costes son elevados: fisioterapia, logopedia, neuropsicología, transporte adaptado…
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Desgraciadamente, la situación económica de mi familia no nos permite costearnos la terapia, condenando así a mi padre a una mejora inalcanzable.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Por eso hemos creado esta campaña: para poder ayudar a mi padre a volver a tener una vida lo más digna posible. Con todo lo que ha luchado para llegar hasta donde está, ¡se merece una segunda oportunidad!

<div>Cada donación, por pequeña que sea, nos acerca un poco más al objetivo de que mi padre pueda recuperar parte de su vida y su independencia.

<div>I’m John and I would like to introduce you to my father, Alun.

<div>A year ago, my father – a creative, active and generous person – suffered a brain haemorrhage which almost took him away from us before his time.
</div>
<div>After two weeks of absolute uncertainty and against all odds, he came back to this world…

<div>Our lives changed forever, and my father’s, even more, from one day to the next. In a matter of minutes, he went from a totally independent person to find himself laying in a hospital bed, with severe aftereffects which have left him in an absolute state of dependency.
</div>

<div>After having been in hospital for nine months, a tracheostomy, being fed through a PEG (gastric tube) and delirium episodes, my father had the strength to overcome all of those obstacles and all of us together, we were able to stabilise his life.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Now he’s at home, however, there’s still a long and uphill road to go. Doctors have explained to us that intensive rehabilitation is fundamental for him to be able to recover mobility, speech fluency and, above all, autonomy.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>The sooner we get started with this complete therapy, the more possibilities we have of him being able to take control of his life.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>The problem is that the specialised neurological rehabilitation that my father needs is only offered at private clinics and is very expensive: physiotherapy, speech therapy, neuropsychology, special transport…
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Unfortunately, we are not able to pay for the therapy due to my family’s financial situation, sentencing my father to an unreachable improvement.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>This is the reason we have created this campaign: so we can help my father have a decent quality of life again. After having fought so much to reach this point, he deserves a second chance!
</div>

</div>
<div>Each donation, whichever the amount, gets us a bit closer to the goal of my father being able to recover part of his life and independency.
</div>
