<div>In October 2019, I was diagnosed with NMOSD (Neuromyelitis Optica Spectrum Disorder), a rare autoimmune disease that affects the central nervous system. It is estimated to affect between 0.5 and 4 people per 100,000 worldwide, making it very little known.

<div>NMOSD causes inflammation in the optic nerves and spinal cord. In practice, this means I live with pain, fatigue, weakness, vision problems, and other limitations that are often not visible but prevent me from carrying out normal daily activities.

<div>Every day is different: some days I can move and focus a little more, and other days I can barely get out of bed. The disease has made it very difficult for me to maintain stable employment, but I don’t want to give up.

<div>I am a translator, and although my health limits me, I want to stay active, useful, and maintain my independence.
</div>

</div>
<div>That is why I have decided to start this campaign: I need to raise 50,000 Mexican pesos (≈ 2,700 USD) to pay off some pending debts and cover basic daily expenses, such as food, housing, transportation, and medications, so that stress does not delay my recovery from the most recent flare-up I experienced.

<div>I am not only seeking financial help; I am looking for an opportunity to keep moving forward and show that, even with this disease, I can contribute something.

<div>La NMOSD provoca inflamaciones en los nervios ópticos y la médula espinal. En la práctica, eso significa que vivo con dolor, fatiga, debilidad, problemas de visión y otras limitaciones que muchas veces no se notan a simple vista, pero que me impiden realizar actividades diarias normales.

<div>Cada día es distinto: algunos puedo moverme y concentrarme un poco más, y otros apenas logro levantarme. La enfermedad me ha hecho muy difícil tener un trabajo estable, pero no quiero rendirme.

<div>Soy traductor, y aunque mi salud me limita, quiero seguir activo, útil y mantener mi independencia.

<div>Por eso he decidido abrir esta campaña: necesito reunir 50,000 pesos mexicanos para saldar algunas deudas pendientes y cubrir gastos básicos de la vida diaria, como alimentos, vivienda, transporte y medicamentos, de manera que el estrés no retrase mi recuperación del brote más reciente que tuve.
