Andy was on a waitlist for two years trying to obtain a surgery date in Vancouver, a long time waiting to be one's true self. Over and over, she attended appointments that seemed hopeful of getting a surgery date, only to be consistently disappointed.

While she is elated to finally have a date booked, she faces a mountain of costs to cover. Surgery is an excruciating and arduous process, rendering Andy unable to work for three months afterwards.
