<div>When the immediate crisis eased, our team stepped back and asked an important question.

<div><strong>If we're going to build the future of Amatsiko, how can we build it in the best possible way?</strong>

<div>With guidance from experienced supporters, educators and development specialists, we realised something important.

<div>Building a new classroom block on the land we already own would certainly help.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>But it would still leave much of the school operating on rented land.
</div>

</div>
<div>If that land were ever sold or lost, hundreds of children could once again face uncertainty.

</div>
<div>Instead, we have an extraordinary opportunity to create something far more secure.

<div>For more than 11 years, Amatsiko Preparatory School in Kabale, south-western Uganda has been a place of hope.

<div>A place where orphaned and vulnerable children receive not only an education, but safety, encouragement, nutritious meals, community and the belief that their future matters.

<div>The word <strong>Amatsiko</strong> means "<strong>hope</strong>" in Rukiga.

<div>Every morning, that hope walks through our school gates.

<div>For many children, school is the safest place they know.

<div>Some have lost parents. Some come from extremely vulnerable homes. Many rely on Amatsiko for daily meals, stability and the chance to build a brighter future.

<div>Amatsiko Preparatory School was founded by people who grew up in poverty themselves.

<div>Co-founders <strong>Alex Atuheire</strong> and <strong>Alphonse Twinamasiko</strong> understand the barriers children face because they lived them.

<div>As a child, Alphonse worked to pay his own school fees, even raising rabbits so he could continue his education.
