<div>The urgency to finish Hassan's house is growing. Every night now, settlers are circling Hassan's town in the West Bank's area C, under Israeli security control, firing gunshots and looking for anyone still out on the streets. Hassan and his family, who live near the main road and are among the poorest and most vulnerable, are more terrified than ever. Only two months ago, soldiers who entered the house, dislocated Hassan's shoulder and elbow, and he remains in pain, unable to afford an operation. But even more critical, he wants to move as soon as possible to the new apartment in Area B, which is under Palestinian control and thus  further from the zones of conflict.

<div>With the help of funds raised here and a couple more private donors, Hassan has managed to put up the internal walls, install electrical connections and even begin plastering.  But to complete the minimum necessary to actually move in, he still needs to purchase and install: doors and windows; floor tiles, basic bathroom fixtures like a toilet and shower; a kitchen sink, dig a septic tank; and install a wood stove and chimney for heating for a total of about 50,000 shekels (about $24,000 CAN).
