<div>Voici notre grande fo-folle, notre bébé d’un an que vous avez sans doute vu plus qu'une fois sur ma page facebook ou instagram :). Notre tout premier chien, notre petite boule d’amour, adoptée du Humane Society près avoir été retrouvée à 5 semaines au bord de l’autoroute, ici à Kingston, incapable de marcher. Depuis maintenant un an et quelques jours, elle fait partie de notre vie et illumine toutes nos journées par ses demandes constantes d’amour, ses chialages parce qu’elle a trop chaud quand son frère veut se coller à elle, et ses beaux yeux avec ses grandes oreilles qui nous font fondre jour après jour.

<div>Aujourd’hui, on a appris quelque chose qui nous brise le cœur : Violet vit avec une condition rare et sévère. Sans entrer trop dans le technique, on peut dire qu’autour des os de ses pattes, des morceaux d'os se sont fracturés puis reformés de manière inexplicable, ce qui fait que chaque pas, chaque livre de pression lui cause énormément de douleur. En plus de cette malformation, elle a un côté de ses hanches déformé et un genou qui « débarque » à presque chaque mouvement qu'elle fait. Malgré tout ça, notre guerrière ne se plaint jamais. Elle continue de marcher, de courir et de jouer chaque jour avec son frère avec beaucoup d'excitation.

<div>Pour lui donner une vraie chance de continuer sa belle vie, elle doit subir plusieurs opérations majeures. La première, aux pattes avant, doit être faite très bientôt pour éviter qu’elle perde sa mobilité. D’autres suivront, aux pattes arrière. Il y a de bonnes chances que sa condition s’améliore après ces chirurgies, même si rien n’est garanti. Mais nous devons essayer. Évidemment, qui dit opérations spécialisées dit « on se coupe un bras, une jambe, et on vend chacun un rein ». Donc oui, la réalité est que chaque opération coûte plus de 10 000 $ — un montant énorme qui, on se le cachera pas, ne dort pas dans notre compte de banque. Mais c’est la seule façon de mettre toutes les chances de notre côté pour lui offrir la vie sans douleur qu’elle mérite.

<div>Pour aider Violet, j’ai décidé de vendre des poupées que je crée entièrement à la main. Lapin, souris, éléphant, loup ou renard, selon votre choix : chacune viendra avec de 2 à 3 tenues uniques, jamais identiques, car je les couds et choisis les tissus selon l’inspiration du moment. Afin de couvrir les matériaux et le temps investi, chaque poupée se vendra 80 $, et chaque dollar récolté servira à nous aider à payer pour les chirurgies, la médication, les plâtres et la physio de notre belle Violet.

<div>Violet et son frère Lester sont notre univers. Nous ferons tout en notre pouvoir pour l'aider, mais nous avons nous-même besoin d’aide. Si une poupée faite avec amour peut trouver sa place chez vous, je serai plus qu’heureuse de vous en créer une, et vous pourrez vous dire que chaque poupée aura contribuée à offrir à Violet une vraie chance de vivre sans souffrance. <div>Here’s our goofy baby, our 1-year-old baby that you’ve probably seen more than once on my facebook or instagram page :). Our very first dog, our little ball of love, adopted from the Humane Society after being found at just 5 weeks old on the side of the highway here in Kingston, unable to walk. For just over a year now, she’s been part of our lives, brightening every single day with her endless need for cuddles, her whining when she gets too hot because her brother insists on snuggling, and her big eyes and floppy ears that melt our heart day after day.

<div>Today, we learned something that breaks our hearts: Violet lives with a rare and severe condition. Without getting too technical, let’s just say that around the bones in her legs, bone fragments have fractured and then re-formed in an inexplicable way, meaning that every step, every pound of pressure causes her tremendous pain. On top of that, she has a hip deformity on one side and a knee that “pops out” almost every time she moves. And yet, our little warrior never complains. She still walks, runs, and plays every single day with her brother, full of excitement.

<div>To give her a real chance at having a beautiful life, she needs several major surgeries. The first, on her front legs, has to be done very soon to prevent her from losing her mobility. Others will follow, on her back legs. There’s a good chance that her condition will improve after these surgeries, but nothing is ever guaranteed. But we have to try. Of course, when you hear “specialized surgeries,” it usually means “cutting off an arm, a leg, and selling each of our kidneys.” Well, yes, the reality is that each surgery costs over $10,000 — an enormous amount that, let’s be honest, isn’t just sitting in our bank account. But it’s the only way to give her the pain-free life she truly deserves.

<div>Well, to help Violet, I’ve decided to sell the dolls I make entirely by hand. Bunny, mouse, elephant, wolf or fox — your choice. Each doll will come with 2 to 3 unique outfits, never identical, because I sew and choose fabrics based on the inspiration of the moment. To cover the materials and the time invested, each doll will be $80, and every single dollar raised will help us pay for Violet’s surgeries, braces, medication, and physiotherapy.
