<div><strong>Judy is a 67-year-old native of Gastonia &amp; has end-stage lung disease.</strong> She was referred to the Duke University Lung Transplant Program in August 2024. It is a mandatory Duke requirement that she have enough donations/funds available to pay for all expenses involved in moving to Durham during the pre/post-transplant period of 5-6 months. The raised funds will be used for her &amp; her caregiver's travel &amp; housing/living expenses as well as medicine/medical co-pays &amp; extended care if needed. None of these expenses are covered by insurance.

<div>Recovery without complication is expected to be up to a year post-transplant with continued medical travel &amp; care through Duke.

<div>She is a loving Grandma to her granddaughter Ezra &amp; has 2 sons, Jonathan (Brittany) &amp; Landon. She is married to Earl Hill, a Navy Veteran of 22 years, &amp; sister to Sandy Bishop. She is retired after working 20 years at Hoechst Celanese, Mt. Holly &amp; 10 years as founder of Sisco Fire &amp; Safety.
