</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>

</div>
<div>We’re Daniëlle and Evy from Eindhoven, the Netherlands, and on October 31st we’ll be hitting the road in our trusty barrel (a Volkswagen Golf Ocean) to take part in the Amsterdam Dakar Challenge.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Over the course of roughly three weeks we’ll be driving more than 7,000 kilometres across Europe and Africa, with Dakar as our final destination.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>The Amsterdam Dakar Challenge isn’t a race but an adventurous road trip where improvising, helping each other out and making it to the finish are what it’s all about. Along the way, we’ll probably get ourselves into quite a few situations with our little car, which isn’t exactly built for this kind of journey. But that’s all part of the adventure.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>And we’re not just doing it for the adventure, we’re also driving for a good cause.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>After reaching the finish line we’ll continue on to Gambia, where our Golf (by then basically our little home on wheels) will be auctioned off. The proceeds will go directly to local projects supporting education for vulnerable girls and solar projects in Gambia.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Of course, getting our barrel all the way to the other side of the world takes a bit of preparation. We’re currently working on making the car as “desert-proof” as possible, and we’ll need to bring plenty of spare parts, camping gear and other essentials. And, of course, quite a few litres of diesel.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>We’re financing part of the trip ourselves. But if you’d like to contribute to our adventure and the good cause, you can sponsor our team, Afslag 040, with a donation. In return we can put your logo on our barrel! The bigger the donation, the bigger the sticker of course.
