<div>In 2018, while facing homelessness in Michigan, Tia turned to the internet for help (4:43-5:30). She was quickly targeted by unlicensed intermediaries-known as "baby brokers"-who lured her with promises of cash and a better future (5:35-5:46).

<div>Within 24 hours, Tia was flown across the country to Utah and pressured by agency staff into a high-stakes, transactional adoption process that moved too fast to process (6:01-7:46). Despite her gut feeling to return home and parent her child, she felt trapped and isolated by the financial and logistical control exerted over her (6:39-7:06). <div>We are rallying support for Tia (also an adopted person), who has been awarded a generous scholarship from <strong><a href="https://concernedunitedbirthparents.org/events" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Concerned United Birthparents</a></strong> (CUB) to attend their 50th annual conference. While her tuition is covered, we are coming together as fellow adoptees to raise the remaining funds needed for her airfare, hotel, and travel expenses. Your contribution will ensure Tia can participate in this transformative event, where she will gain vital tools from fellow adoptees and parents of loss, and community support to continue her healing journey and work toward protecting women and children from the adoption industry.
