... In 1974, A family refugee from Angola built, with what they had, a wooden house in Leiria, firmly believing it would be a temporary home – because one day they would return. Adjacent parts were added always for an ‘impermanent’ future. But life stayed where it was. Years later, the son had his own family and built a brick house – still fragile, but more resistant. It was the ‘grandparents and uncle’ house. Meanwhile, with the passing of the grandfather, it became the ‘House of granny Beu and Uncle Rui’. On January 28, the huge storm took everything. Under the tarps only a few pieces of furniture left and ruins of fractured remains. The house of Granny Beu was left in black and white… In ‘Outeiros da Gândara’, in the Rua de Cima, there is no more a House of Granny Beu – there are only ruins. Granny Beu and the uncle are now living with JP, who hates changes of routine, but will do everything for his family. And, to bear all of it, he confides to Aimar his nightmares -- so that Aimar can keep them, and they can be forgotten.
