<div>Community support has raised $791 so far toward stable housing for Josh, an Army veteran and former medic who's been paying it forward by clearing trees for senior vets at no cost. Since September 1, 2025, Veteran Home Guardians (VHG) has provided food, lodging in a temporary space, a truck, and work supplies to aid his transition. These efforts—plus approximately $29K from bourbon fundraisers organized with Randall Sullivan and the Live Stay Project—represent VHG's only outside funding. This has covered 8 months of operations and paying veterans $25 an hour daily for work at the home base and homes of many local veterans. The focus is on building self-sustainability to avoid being a net drain, ensuring long-term impact for more vets. <div>My name is Travis, and I lead a small nonprofit in Central Ohio called Veteran Home Guardians. We support veterans who are isolated, struggling, or in transition by helping them regain stability and purpose through work and community support.

<div>This fundraiser is for Josh, an Army Veteran and former medic — and his two loyal companions, Loki (his dog) and Rascal (his cat).

<div>Josh’s Situation
</div>

<div>When we met Josh this past August, he was:

<div>•	Living in an unheated sawmill
</div>
<div>•	Without transportation
</div>
<div>•	Unable to consistently access food or job opportunities
</div>
<div>•	At risk of full homelessness
</div>

<div>Despite that, he reached out not asking for charity — but asking if there was any work he could do to help others.

<div>How Josh Has Been Helping Veterans

<div>Josh is highly skilled in tree work and property safety. Immediately, he began clearing dangerous trees for senior veterans in our area — making their homes safer at no cost to them.

<div>He has continued serving his fellow veterans even when he had almost nothing himself.
</div>
