He is now learning to walk with a walker, though function in his left hand and arm may never fully return. He has since begun an intensive treatment course of radiation and chemotherapy — 60 sessions over six weeks, followed by six months of chemotherapy, and hopefully six more months after that.

<div>Through it all, Tristan has remained as positive as he can, holding onto hope for the sake of his family and the people who love him. He was told the average life expectancy for this diagnosis, with treatment, is 12 months — and that was before the stroke. His family now holds that uncertainty close, cherishing every moment they have together.

Tristan has built a respected career in the Toronto film industry, earning a Canadian Screen Award and a reputation for his warmth and creative talent. Chanel owns and runs a beloved hair salon in Toronto's King West neighbourhood.
