<div>On Wednesday, 11/5/2025, I underwent major surgery to clear a nearly fully blocked abdominal aortic artery. My vascular surgeon was stumped, as this is not a common occurrence in people my age—37. Normally, it's people 20+ years older than I. It could be hereditary, which is more than likely. The blockage was sent to be tested, and I'm now working with Hematology and my Vascular Surgeons to hopefully identify the cause. Currently I am healing with a 5-6 inch incision just above my belly button to below my stomach. I have a small clot in my jugular vein and in my right forearm. I'm currently taking a blood thinner to manage clots. The use of my abdominal muscles has been the biggest struggle so far.  Currently, I am unable to drive or lift anything over 5- 10lbs. My follow up appointments are set for December 1st.
