<div>Beim Gassigehen mit ihrem Hund Tilda in einem Hamburger Park passierte am 30. Oktober das Unfassbare: Ein herabstürzender Baum traf Maud so schwer, dass die zweifache Mutter schwer verletzt und seither querschnittsgelähmt im Unfallklinikum Boberg um ihre Rückkehr ins Leben kämpft.

<div>Der Bruchteil einer Sekunde verwandelte das Leben der vierköpfigen Familie in einen Albtraum. Nichts wird jemals wieder so sein, wie es war. Jetzt gilt es, den Fall ins Bodenlose zu verhindern:

<div>Maud benötigt umfangreiche Reha-Maßnahmen, spezialisierte Physio- und Bewegungstherapien, medizinische Hilfsmittel und barrierefreie Anpassungen im Alltag sowie psychologische Unterstützung. Die Krankenkasse wird davon nur einen Bruchteil übernehmen.

<div>Wir hoffen, dass Maud in wenigen Monaten aus der Klinik nach Hause kommt. Die Wohnung im dritten Stock muss barrierefrei umgebaut werden, einen Lift gibt es bisher nicht. Auch eine neue Wohnlösung wäre mit vielen Extrakosten verbunden, doch als Selbstständige stehen Maud und ihr Mann Olli seit dem Unfall vor einer großen finanziellen Herausforderung.

<div>Struck by a Falling Tree and Paraplegic — Please Help Maud and Her Family Rebuild Their Lives

<div>On October 30, while walking her dog Tilda in a park in Hamburg, the unimaginable happened: a falling tree struck Maud and left her with devastating injuries. The mother of two is now paraplegic and fighting her way back into life.
</div>

<div>In a single second, life for this family of four turned into a nightmare. Nothing will ever be the same again — and the challenges ahead are overwhelming.
</div>

</div>
<div>Maud now needs long-term rehabilitation, specialized physiotherapy and movement therapy, medical equipment, and psychological support. She will also need a fully accessible living space. Unfortunately, health insurance will cover only a small part of these costs.
</div>

</div>
<div>Maud currently remains in the Boberg trauma center. When she is able to return home in the coming months, their third-floor apartment — in a building without an elevator — must be rebuilt to make it barrier-free. Finding a new apartment would also be extremely expensive and is a major financial burden for Maud and her husband Olli, both of whom are self-employed.
